Imps (a World Book Day treat)

Today is World Book Day and, as “Hellhound” is not quite ready for your reading pleasure (it won’t be too much longer, I promise!), I thought I’d share a lovely little bit of flash fiction with you. Happy World Book Day! IMPS Lou Yardley © 2018 The scraping meets my ears every night. Scratching sounds … Read moreImps (a World Book Day treat)

Lou interviewed on Horror-Writers.com for Women in Horror Month

February is Women in Horror Month. It’s the time of year when the internet (and probably those in the ‘real world’ too) gets excited about the killer contributions that women make to the horror genre. After all, the female of the species is far deadlier than the male. I’m kidding. Mostly. Anyway, if you would … Read moreLou interviewed on Horror-Writers.com for Women in Horror Month

Hellhound: Stick a fork in it, the first draft is done

That little wolfy dude in the pic looks happy, doesn’t he? No? Maybe he does in his own way. Maybe that’s how he shows that he’s having a good time. His tail might be wagging. The story is called “Wasted Time” and you can read it here. I also answered a few questions and you can check … Read moreWasted Time

My Flash Fiction Adventure – Part 1 – #FlashFiction #MyFlashFictionAdventure

Look at me, using hashtags in my title. I’m so modern! Yesterday, I decided to try my hand at writing some flash fiction. For the uninitiated (which included me up until the other day), flash fiction is a very short story that generally has no more than 1,000 words. Given that during the last 12 … Read moreMy Flash Fiction Adventure – Part 1 – #FlashFiction #MyFlashFictionAdventure

Stuff’s a-happenin’ (Competitions, Newsletters and Cross Promotion)

I know what you’re thinking… Why the bees, Lou?? Why the bees? The bees are supposed to symbolise the fact that I’m pretty busy at the moment (y’know, ‘busy bees’)… and, hey, I love any opportunity to post a picture of an insect or an arachnid. You should know me by now! If you’re a … Read moreStuff’s a-happenin’ (Competitions, Newsletters and Cross Promotion)
