Disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
“Madman Across the Water” is a tale created by blending three very different time periods together. Each period is given a rich and realistic atmosphere, dragging you deeper into Angel’s expertly woven plot.
Apparently based on the Slenderman myth (although I don’t know enough about that to comment on if anything’s been changed), the monster is creepy, relentless and bloodthirsty. I’m a big monster fan and this is the kind of monster that I’d like to see brought to life on the silver screen.
“Madman…” tells the story of one family’s cursed connection with the creature and what they have to do to survive… or not. Angel has done a fantastic job of teasing out the details throughout the book, making you want to keep on reading. The story has an addictive quality that made me want to keep going even when I should have been sleeping/getting ready to go to work. This is a sure sign of a good book.
