I know what you’re thinking… Why the bees, Lou?? Why the bees? The bees are supposed to symbolise the fact that I’m pretty busy at the moment (y’know, ‘busy bees’)… and, hey, I love any opportunity to post a picture of an insect or an arachnid. You should know me by now!
If you’re a member of my mailing list, you will have received an email today, telling you a bit about what I’ve got in store for the immediate future.
In the email, I have given details of not one, but two, competitions. So, I thought I’d share them here too…
In an odd twist of events, the cover art for my next book has already been created… and I haven’t even finished the first draft yet! While it does kinda feel like I’m doing things back to front, looking at the image is giving shed loads of inspiration.
In the next week, I will be sharing several little sections of the art. The idea is to give you a little taster and to have a bit of fun. I’ll be running a competition to see if you can correctly guess what the main theme of the book is. Please note that the ONLY way you’ll be able to enter is to be a member of this mailing list. So, if you’ve got friends who might be up for the challenge, get them to sign up!
All of the correct entries will be put into a hat (quite literally – I’ve got a top hat that’s just screaming to be used in this way!) and the winner will be picked at random. The winner will win a signed copy of the new as-yet-unfinished book.
Sharing is caring
I randomly decided to start a new sharing competition over on Facebook. As usual, it’s a prize draw (probably involving a hat again) and the prize is the winner’s choice of any of my books (in whatever format they wish). The winner will be chosen once we’ve reached 300 ‘likes’ on my Facebook page.
If you would like to enter, please check out this post for more information.
In addition to the competitions, I’m also looking for authors, indie publishers, bands, filmmakers, etc to do some cross promotion with. If you’re interested, please contact me either through this website or on Twitter.
And, that’s it for now. Have a great weekend!
